South Gloucestershire Council’s consultation on its Clean Air Action Plan

Published: 09 December 2022

South Gloucestershire Council’s (SGC) Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) has been produced to put into place the visions and priorities in South Gloucestershire Council’s Clean Air Strategy (2020-2024) and to fulfil the council’s duties required by the Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) framework. The aim of the CAAP is to benefit the most people by striving for clean air across the widest area.

The CAAP considers air quality throughout the whole of South Gloucestershire in addition to the Air Quality Management Areas (AQMAs) declared in Kingswood - Warmley, and Staple Hill.

It includes 30 actions designed to improve air quality, all of which are important. SGC is proposing to prioritise actions that will reduce transport emissions and emissions from domestic solid fuel burning.
