ELCoE's Green Open Homes Day

Published: 18 August 2025

Ever wondered what its like to live with an Air Source Heat Pump, or whether solar panels could make a difference to your energy bills?

ELCoE is a local community group, working to make clean and affordable energy accessible to everyone, including those in fuel poverty. We run projects in Pucklechurch, Westerleigh, Emersons & Lyde Green, Downend, Staple Hill, Mangotsfield, and Blackhorse.

After a brilliant 2024 event, our Green Open Homes Day is back and will be held on Saturday 20th September 2025, from 11am to 3pm.

On the day, local residents invite neighbours in for a cuppa and share their honest experiences of making energy-saving improvements to their homes. Like:
• Insulation
• Air source heat pumps
• Solar panels
• DIY draught-proofing
The aim is to help demystify retrofit and energy-saving upgrades by showing what's achievable in local homes and sharing genuine, real experiences. We currently have homes involved across Pucklechurch, Emersons Green, Downend, and Staple Hill.

Whether you're curious about using green energy at home, or you want to explore ways to cut down your energy bills, head to our website for more information about the day and homes you can visit:
